Black holes and the beginning of Everything

I'm sitting in Hobart listening to a skyful of fireworks going off, just to welcome tall ships that would have fired cannonshot in their fighting days, and avoiding a footy match which I could care less about. Also, there is a fierce undercurrent of wasted breath going into a poetry scandal or two which I will happily leave to other blogs and sites. Sad, really.
